| Darts
has a modified way of playing that uses the principles of golf. The
game is played by completing a “hole” with the least possible
shots or strokes. This is a very quick game that can be played with
nine or 19 holes. There is no limit as to the number of players.
The physical
“hole” in this game is the score number on the dart
board. To complete a hole is to land darts on the appropriate hole
number. A player may not use all of his three darts in a turn. Only
the last one thrown counts for a score anyway. It is hence better
to stop throwing darts once a satisfactory score is already achieved
than taking risks in the consequent shots.
The race here
is about getting the lowest points or number of strokes. A double
equals one point while a triple is equivalent to two. The section
between the bullseye and triple ring counts for three points. The
part between the triple and double rings gives a score of four.
It is considered a bogey to land darts outside of the right hole
number. A bogey means five points.
The players
have equal opportunities to complete a hole so the sequence of turns
doesn’t really matter for this game. |
