Efficiency Enhancers
A number of
gadgets and parts have been designed to increase the performance
of dart pieces. Whether it is for a plain game or a serious tournament,
these accessories help a player keep up with the competition.
“O”
rings solve the problem of having loose shafts and conversion
points. They are made of rubber or silicon. Sliding over threads,
they keep parts of the dart from rattling. Rubber “o”
rings are used for metal shafts and help keep tips tight against
the barrel. In addition, the stem grip rings or
stem crowns and shaft clips also
help maintain shaft tightness. They work on any nylon shaft.
Ordinarily,
grip assistance substances are used to help improve
grip on the darts. They are either made of chalk, rosin, or wax.
Chalk is advised for those players with normally dry hands. Rosin
on the other hand promotes a more stable grip. Wax grip assistance
is commercially available as “finger wax.” Creams too
have been popular non-slip grip enhancers. They are formulated for
sweaty palms and greasy fingers. Specialized dart sleeves
have also been developed. These allow for easy grip renewing. They
come in special reflector colors for added functionality.
Recently,
aerospace solutions have been employed to ensure that dart parts
are kept in perfect fit. A highly reliable adhesive liquid
has been developed as an alternative to “o” rings.
